Next Class: 04/24/08
We'll have a guest speaker, Shawn Beeks, talking about his work. Please look at his blog and see if you can think of any questions for him.
Bring in your sketchbooks, small drawings, photos, whatever to scan and/or if you've photographed your work, bring in your images of your artwork.
I will go over how to save images for a Powerpoint and/or iMovie.
You'll have this class (04/24) and next class (05/01) to work on your final.
Final Presentations are due on the last day of class, 05/08/08. ALL your projects including your final must be on "my computer" by the end of this class!!! This is how I will grade you.

David Byrne & Powerpoint Presentations
He writes:
I have been working with PowerPoint, the ubiquitous presentation software, as an art medium for a number of years. It started off as a joke (this software is a symbol of corporate salesmanship, or lack thereof) but then the work took on a life of its own as I realized I could create pieces that were moving, despite the limitations of the "medium." I have shown these pieces in galleries and museums and most recently have produced a book with a DVD (Envisioning Emotional Epistemological Information) as means of presenting these curiosities.

Inspiration for the powerpoint that you'll present as your final? Perhaps you shouldn't think about the powerpoint presentation as just a record of your artwork but make the presentation a work of art in of itself.
